10月1日是中国的国庆节，那是以新中国成立后开设的，以开国大典的标准设为新的一个国家成立。因为我国的10月1日是开国大典，所以，10月1日既是我国的国庆节也是我中华民族的生日。

国庆节的那天晚上，我们相聚奶奶家庆祝，妹妹的脸上泛出甜甜的微笑。因为，我好久没有见到妹妹了，所以，那天跟妹妹非常亲密。而奶奶从下午就开始准备，那布满皱纹的脸显得奶奶格外苍老。

我们吃完晚饭后，便散步回家。一路上，到处都是金光闪烁的彩灯，华灯高照，一派节日的景象。马路上的车辆来来往往，川流不息。走到广场时，那里人来人往热闹非凡，到处洋溢着人们的欢笑声。许多小孩在广场中央追逐着，像一群快活的小鸟。以前的地摊不翼而飞了，取而代之的是用无数盆鲜花组成了一个个造型别致的花坛，把广场装点得犹如五彩缤纷的大花园。花坛里的花的颜色可多啦!有红的、白的、粉的、黄的......它们昂首绽放，似乎在互相比美。

There are so many colours of flowers in the flower bed. They are red, white, pink and yellow. They look up and blossom, as if they are comparable to each other.
美丽的夜晚，天空中的星星闪烁着，好像在向我眨眼睛，回想起1949年的十月一日，XXX在天安门城楼上向全世界宣布："中华人民共和国成立，中国人民从此站起来了。"为了这一天，无数先辈付出了鲜血和生命，也正是无数的鲜血和生命换来了我们今天的和平与美好生活。
On a beautiful night, the stars in the sky twinkled as if blinking at me. In retrospect of October 1, 1949, XXX announced to the whole world on Tian'anmen Gate Tower: "The People's Republic of China was founded, and the Chinese people have stood up since then."
