What about the HOTTER Earth?
In my dream, the world is quiet ,clear and peaceful: the river follows softly; the birds sings freely…But what about the truth? As everybody knows, our planet is taking place a dramatic change. Did you ever stop to notice the crying Earth?With the development of our technology and human society, our material lives are getting more and more colourful, since that, our consumption have taken an important place. As a result, the pollution we caused has been getting out of control. What’s more, our excessive consumption and enjoyment have damaged the weakest part of the Earth—atmosphere. The creasing emission of carbon dioxide has caused serious global warming, so we must take especially attention on it.
To be honest, I’m scared of the global warming. As a result, I asked all of my family care about their carbon emission when they consume. And to realise more, we have kept writing down all the tips that might be related to it for a year. Here is all the data we statist iced: there are only three people live in our household, and we have a mini car which was bought in 2002, besides, we drive it 625 miles in average each year, so we only cost 25＄for gas bill. What’s more, we take short flights less than twice a year. Furthermore, we don’t have any machines which use neither solar nor wind for motive power, and my family’s monthly electric bill is about 25＄. According to all of this, an authority website calculated my family’s annual carbon impacts for us :the figure of our personal carbon impact is about 7.5 tons per year, however, it says this is only an average level. It seems like these are only useless figures that without any significance. On the contrary, most of us have ignored a major deed, that is: how we can reduce these impacts when we consumed? It is believed that a single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime. On this view, my family have to plant at least 7 trees a year to keep the balance between our atmosphere and our consumption pollution. It is obvious that few of us can entirely counteract the carbon dioxide we have made. And to make matter worse, when we add all the impacts worldwide, the consequence is indubitable fearful.
Mark Twain once said, what gets us into trouble is not what we don't know, it's what we know for sure that just aren't so. Personally, the global warming has not been taken enough caution. At the same time, the warm are heard and responded to unaccepted consequences: hurricanes, earthquakes, typhoons, floods, droughts, tsunamis and so on. In my opinion, we have to hear from the question from now, from the beginning of the problem—consumption.From joozone.com.
To cool the hot Earth, each of us should do our best to exert ourselves. Here is what we can do, and these tips are useful and practical.
Tip No.1 Buy organic foods as much as possible. Because organic soils capture and store carbon dioxide at much higher levels than soils from conventional farms.
Tip No.2 Buy recycled paper products. Just think about one single tree can reduce how much tons of carbon dioxide.
Tip No.3 Buy fresh foods instead of froze. Because frozen food uses 10 times more energy to produce.
Tip No.4 Buy energy efficient appliances, like light bulbs.
Tip No.5 Move your air-conditioner down 2 degrees in water and up 2 degrees in summer.
Tip No.6 Drive less and switch to green power, such as rent a cycle, and take bus or subway.
These are only a small part for us to do, but we need to be confident is, that one day we will solve the problem. What we need now is your determination, and our action. You have to believe, if you really try, we can heal the world we are living and save it for our children
In brief, the government should balance the economy and environment. But this is more than a government mission, it’s also a moral issue. As has been mentioned, we all clear it’s not a sudden job, but we must work it out together, for each of us is the cause of the global warming. After all, we have to think about the human civilization, just as Michael Jackson song, heal the world, and make it a better place, for you for me and the entire human race. 英语作文
