　　Currently more and more student-owned private cars appear on campus, and this phenomenon has aroused a big concern. Some take it as a positive thing since it reflects the social development and progress; while others think it fosters vanity and "keeping-up-with-the-Jones" mentality, so it should be prevented.

　　As far as I am concerned, it is not a bad thing for college students to own private cars, especially for those who need them as tools for travelling, such as the senior students who are hunting for jobs in downtowns while living in a far-away place; those who need cars as cargo transport tools while starting business independently on campus.

　　Actually dozens of problems indeed come along with an increasing number of students driving to and from college. These problems include the availability of parking space and the likely danger among young drivers. Safety is the one which should be paid due attention to. With this in mind, schools have the responsibility to take all effective measures to ensure the safety of students.
