My freshman days are full of excitement. As a freshman, I find everything in the university is attractive. Here the air is free and very different from that in the high school. I have enough time to stay in the library, reading my favorite novels and other books. I have joined a music club, so every week I can go to sing songs and listen to all kinds of music. It is very interesting.
There are so many activities, which are held by clubs or faculties, such as model contest, pronunciation contest, opera show and so on. They are so good that I am often shocked and surprised, and they make my life even more wonderful. My freshman days are busy. I know I must learn more knowledge in the university, and I should concentrate on my study. So every morning, I listen to the English programs on the radio in order to improve my listening comprehension. In the afternoon, I usually go to a classroom after dinner, doing my homework, reviewing or reading English stories. During the two weeks before the exam, I am especially busy. Therefore, I think it is really a tiring process. My freshman days are pleasant. I still remember that on December 24th, the Christmas Eve, led by our foreign teacher, we walked around the campus and sang Christmas songs very loudly, waving our hands cheerfully. Finally, everybody got a present from “Santa Clause”, a small bag of candies and peanuts. I believe it is the best and happiest Christmas Day I have experienced. Usually, I go to see classical or popular films in the theater with my dorm-mates on weekends, feeling moving and warm plots. I also go downtown all day with my friends. Though the weather is so hot, we are very happy. Sometimes, I walk in the field off the campus, breathing the fresh air and feeling the breeze; sometimes I go to see the Pearl River by bus, impressed by the blue sky and the small old boats. My freshman days also involve sadness. When I just came here, I felt uncomfortable because of the new circumstance.
I missed my parents and my home very much and became upset from time to time. Now I have adjusted myself and felt better, though I am still homesick. I feel sad because of low scores of my homework, especially my failure on the middle exam. I made me grieved for a long time. All in all, my freshman days were colorful. Everything of those days flashes like many photos in my mind. I think different people have different feelings about their own freshman days. After all, I was still a freshman now and I will strive for further progress and enjoy my life. But I believe these days will be one of the most wonderful experiences in my life.
