我们应该帮助陌生人吗
Should we help strangers?
When you are walking down the street, a stranger turn to you for help, will you help him or her? Shaking their heads, many people may say, “Nowadays, there are too many cheater in our society, and helping strangers involves risks of getting hurt and cheated”. However, I will give an opposite answer without hesitation, because there are various pluses for everyone in helping others.
First , helping others is one of traditional virtues of ours. In the history of China , our ancestor were always helpful to others, no matter friends or strangers. They always tried their best to help others, even sacrifice their own wishes or advantage.
Second, helping others makes the world more livable, lovable and harmonious. People can’t live well alone in the world, and we need each other’s care and support. When the people who need help can get it in time, he or she will be thankful to others ans will help others if someone need help. If it goes like this, our society will become more and more harmonious. On the contrary, the world will be cold and depressing.
Last but not least, helping others means helping yourself. I heard a story: a couple went home in a night after a party. A girl suddenly screamed, “ Help ! A thief ! Someone get him!” After hearing this, the man wanted to help the girl, while the woman tried to keep out of trouble and stopped her husband. Ironically , they were extremely surprised that the girl who asked for help was their own daughter. Maybe there could not be a coincidence like this in the true life. But I believe that what you do to others may one day done to you.
Maybe you say that some cheaters take the advantages of people’s kindness and warm heart, which makes us be cheated and hurt. However, we should judge it carefully using our common sense. To sum up , we should be ready to help others because it benefits other people and ourselves as well.
